For this project, I created an experimental 30-second video teaser that explores the impact of color grading on narrative interpretation. I combined stock footage and my own original content to demonstrate how color can dramatically alter the mood, tone, and meaning of visuals. Using two different color grading techniques—one warm and saturated, the other cool and desaturated—I highlighted how these changes shift the viewer's emotional response and interpretation.
One challenge was working with stock footage, particularly in matching brighter daytime clips with their nighttime counterparts. Many clips were already color-graded, making it difficult to achieve true contrast. My own footage was easier to manipulate, but I learned that achieving vastly different tones, like "Night" and "Day," requires careful planning, such as shooting during overcast conditions or using appropriate lighting. The project serves as a study in the power of color and sound to shape visual narratives and invites viewers to explore multiple interpretations.
